Story about Uncle Tan
<Disclaimer: The name has been changed to protect privacy. >
We interviewed Uncle Tan, and he shared his story on Incontinence.
Uncle Tan is 82 years old, and he lives alone in his rental flat. He goes downstairs around the neighborhood to get his lunch once a day. He does not stay out for more than an hour and usually relies on social workers to deliver his groceries because of his Urinary Incontinence.
He shared with us that there was once he could not hold his urine in his bladder long enough to reach the public bathroom, and he soiled himself. From that day onwards, he has been afraid of going outside for too long for fear that the same thing would happen again. When we asked him whether he considered getting adult diapers for his Incontinence condition, he smiled and said that he does not have that extra money to purchase them.
There are many elderly in Singapore having similar issues as Uncle Tan.
According to ST's article, some patients at home changed diapers only twice a day - compared to the average of five or six times daily - to save on costs. Such infrequent changes can lead to bedsores, infections and complications, and more stays in the hospital.
The major objective of the Pay-it-forward campaign is to help seniors or the elderly affected by incontinence. We sell diapers in Singapore for the daily needs of elders with incontinence. You can choose to buy one pack or an entire cartoon of diapers. Your diaper contribution will be forwarded to the seniors in the nursing homes, social welfare organisations.
You can make a difference by purchasing adult diapers that will be forwarded to these seniors in need. We hope that with our Pay-It-Forward campaign, more seniors can live a life of dignity and that they can live the best of their golden years.
Your donation will be forwarded to the seniors in the nursing homes, social welfare organisations. Some of the organisations we work closely are:
